Our name comes from a real place.

Piney Run is a tributary stream that flows through Southeast and Northeast DC before draining into the Anacostia River. It doesn't announce itself. It starts small, moves steadily, and joins something larger than itself — on its own terms, at its own pace.

That's the model we're building on.

No one becomes who they are all at once. They become who they are through repetition — through the discipline of showing up, through the humility of being corrected, through the long, quiet work of figuring out what they're made of.

A tributary does the same thing. It runs where it needs to before reaching the world.
